Sustainability in action
At HSB, we don’t just talk about sustainability – we live it every day. We take responsibility for our environment by shaping our actions with the future in mind and by investing purposefully in sustainable progress.
As a manufacturing company we know: every kilowatt hour counts. That’s why we continuously optimize our energy consumption – through live energy monitoring, photovoltaic systems, and our own battery storage, which feeds renewable energy directly into our production and eases the load on the public grid.
We invest in projects that matter, like our own solar park, and we use 100% certified green electricity. Since 2023, we’ve been measuring our carbon footprint and are steadily reducing it – transparently and without greenwashing. Our goal: a future where economic success and environmental protection go hand in hand.
With our certified energy management (ISO 50001) and environmental management (ISO 14001) systems in place, we ensure measurable, verifiable improvements in energy efficiency and environmental performance – every single day.
Taking the lead: voluntary carbon accounting since 2023
Even though we are not yet legally required to report, we track our CO₂ footprint across Scopes 1 and 2, and selected categories in Scope 3 (3.1, 3.3, 3.5, 3.7). Our goal: to gradually include additional sub scopes to make our emissions even more transparent and to reduce them in a targeted way.

As a family-owned business with flat hierarchies, we work together as equals and value mutual respect and appreciation. Diversity and inclusion are a natural part of who we are: we embrace different perspectives and take a clear stance against any form of discrimination – firmly anchored in our Code of Conduct.

We use the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) icons for informational purposes and in line with United Nations guidelines to illustrate our sustainability activities.
