Founded in August 1993 as a contract manufacturer and builder of special-purpose machines, HSB has grown into a trusted expert in high-quality mechanical linear technology. Through every stage of that journey, one thing has remained unchanged: our passion for linear technology, our commitment to uncompromising quality, and our determination to find the right solution for every challenge.

Where Challenges Inspire Innovation

Only a few years after HSB was founded, our focus shifted decisively towards mechanical linear technology. The launch of the HSB-beta® mechanical linear unit in 1996 was more than the introduction of a new product. It became the starting point for the portfolio that defines HSB today.

Since then, our customers have been our greatest source of inspiration. Their challenges encourage us to develop new ideas, refine existing concepts, and create solutions where standard products simply are not enough. Customer-specific requirements have repeatedly led to technical innovations, new product families, and additional sizes. Many of today's standard products began as one-off solutions for a single application.

As our customers' needs have evolved, so has our portfolio. Alongside these technical developments, lasting relationships have grown with customers and suppliers alike—partnerships built on trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to finding the best solution.

The industries we serve have changed just as much. What began primarily in the printing industry has expanded into a wide range of demanding applications. Today, sectors such as medical technology and food processing rely on our products, where precision, reliability, and consistent quality are essential.

A Home for Innovation

With every new idea and every technical advancement, HSB has continued to grow. Over the years, we outgrew several locations before finding our home in the In Laisen industrial park in Reutlingen. Yet even there, our journey did not stand still. We have continued to expand our facilities, creating space for modern manufacturing, new ideas, and the future development.

As our capabilities have grown, so have our processes. Today, our modern machinery and extensive warehouse enable us to manufacture efficiently and flexibly. What has never changed is the way we work. Development, design, manufacturing, assembly, and service all remain under one roof. This keeps communication direct, decision-making fast, and allows good ideas to become the right solutions – together with, and for, our customers.

Partnerships That Shape the Future

At HSB, we believe that lasting success is built on lasting relationships. That is why investing in strong partnerships has always been just as important as investing in technology.

In 2020, we acquired UniPPS GmbH business solutions, securing the future of the ERP system that has supported our highly configurable manufacturing processes for many years and connects every part of our business.

Five years later, LUX Eloxal GmbH joined the HSB family. As a trusted long-term partner specializing in aluminum surface finishing, the company has complemented our own commitment to quality from the very beginning.

Together, these companies have become an integral part of HSB, strengthening our expertise well beyond linear technology.

Taking Responsibility

We believe responsibility starts with the decisions we make ourselves. That is why we invest in practical measures that make a real difference, including photovoltaic systems and battery storage, allowing renewable energy to become part of our everyday manufacturing operations. For us, sustainable thinking and long-term business success go hand in hand.
