Mechanical linear drives HSB-beta®
with toothed belt drive or screw drive

Our mechanical linear drives HSB-beta® are classics amongst the linear modules. They can be called the foundation stone of the success of our HSB Automation GmbH, having been continuously further developed since 1996, with the addition of further sizes and versions.

The basis of every HSB-beta® linear unit is an aluminium profile specially developed for the respective size and its field of application.

HSB-beta® linear units are currently available in 11 sizes - from HSB-beta® 40 to HSB-beta® 180. In order to satisfy the range of options demanded in practice, various guide variants and drive variants are offered.

Drive variants

1. Toothed belt drive

Application area: for low and medium feed forces involving long strokes. We use toothed belts as drive components for low to medium precision. Drive belts take the form of circulating toothed belts in the ZRS/ZSS versions or Omega drives in the ARS/ASS versions with driven carriages.

The ZRS/ZSS versions with circulating toothed belt and drive at the profile end are used for all standard applications where the position of the profile is fixed and the carriage moves, including long strokes.

The ARS/ASS versions are primarily used where the profile moves along a boom and the position of the carriage is fixed. This unit is used especially for applications as the Z-axis in multi-axis systems. It can also be preferred for very long units, since the length of the toothed belt that is used is subject to less stretching, due to its short length.

2. Screw drive

Our linear drives with screw drive are used for applications which require both large forces and high precision. For this we primarily use our HSB-kgt® ball screws.

3. Not driven types

All overall sizes are also available as ORS/OSS type (without drive), i. e. for parallel operation.

Guide variants

1. HSB roller guide

Our roller guide is suitable for light to medium loads. It has low friction and permits high speeds up to 8 m/s. Its accuracy lies in the medium range.

For most applications our roller guide can be classed as "maintenance free".

2. Profile guide rail

Our linear units with linear guide rail are suitable for medium to heavy loads. They have low friction but are nevertheless very stiff. They permit high speeds up to 5 m/s. Their accuracy lies in the precision range.
